Sweet trombone lines that lullaby between the verses offset the argumentative guitar and bass lines that seductively battle with each other for an ounce of space. Uncharacteristic power chords and a driving back beat allow you to settle in before the piece transcends, The song ends anarchically as you are led through a blissful harmonious landscape before being punched by distorted guitars and accumulating feedback. Comforting Lie is a pessimistic reply to the idea that wealthy people are left unsatisfied with their lives despite having money. A comforting lie is nicer than the uncomfortable truth.
